Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA)

 

Critical Discourse Analysis is actually for the knowing of language in use and how social power abuse is used in society. In this way the studies of Norman Fairclough, van Dijk and Wodak are the major figures who talk about the discourse and social aspects of inequality, dominance and use of discursive language in texts and talks. Teun van Dijk talked about how the use of language beyond the sentence level is used and how power abuse is used, and how public discourse is controlled, minds are controlled while using discourses in society through mass media and political aspects. In society concepts of ethnicity, nationality and racism are entertained.
